Jack’s Winning Words 6/3/20
“I don’t feel tired.”  (Slavery hymn)  I don’t know about you but I’m “sick and tired" of lots of stuff these days…but imagine yourself as a slave - you'd be tired. Really tired. But the slaves sang in the fields “I don't feel tired. I don’t believe God has brought me this far to leave me.”  Today let us remember that God has not brought us this far to leave us.  He goes with us...whatever our trials might be: sickness, poverty, despondency.  His words to us: “I will never leave you”.  I’m not so sick and tired now as I read that.  ;-)  Jack

FROM DR J:  I am feeling a little tired of it all…I’ll remember that God is near and that God will never leave me ;-)  Thanks for the reminder!  ===JACK:  In the end...there must be a reason.  It will be interesting to see what God had in mind.  "Oh, now I see!!!"

FROM OUTHOUSE JUDY:  That’s what’s getting us through this all.  Knowing we are in His hands.
===FROM JACK:  "His eye is on the sparrow...and I know He watches ME!"

FROM JC IN HK:  Amen===JACK:  How are protests handled where you are?

FROM ST PAUL IN ST PAUL:  at your age, Jack,   its okay to be somewhat tired.   you have labored long and hard during many years of Christian ministry.   take a nap this afternoon:):)===JACK:  I'm keeping the seat warm for you.

FROM NORM;S BLOG:  In today’s world, the streets have been substituted for the fields and the songs contain the phrases “Don’t Shoot” and “I can’t breathe”. What hasn’t changed for most of the African –Americans in the demonstration is the belief that God is still with them. Certainly, there is frustration and anger that the oppression of racism continues to exist, but there is also an abiding belief that God is with them and that things can and will get better.===JACK:  As a funeral closing song, I like the old spiritual: "Soon and very soon, we're going to meet the King."

FROM TG:  How appropriate for the times we live in. "Abide With Me, Lord.   I Need You Ev'ry Hour"===JACK:  ...and, "I want Jesus to walk with me."
