Jack’s Winning Words  4/2/20
“Laughter is the sun that drives winter from the human face.”  (Victor Hugo)  Victor is  famous for writing Les Misérables, the miserable ones. His literary style is called, realism.  He wrote it like it was in the early 1800’s – injustice and poverty.  He told how one act of kindness could make a difference for the poor.  Someone could write about the miserable ones today, also.  Thank God for those who care more about people than whether the Dow goes up or down.  ;-)  Jack

FROM DR J:  Thank God indeed! People over profit!===JACK:  Just returned from delivering meals to two needy families with school-age children.  Sometimes the need is hidden behind a closed door.  "Out of sight...out of mind!"

FROM FACEBOOK LIZ:  the dow is the bellwether for quality of life for everyone... employment, productivity, hope.  world poverty is at an all-time low. yay!===JACK:  I watched The Grapes of Wrath movie the other night.  I did not feel like cheering.

FROM MAR MAR:  And thank God for you dear Pastor and friend for the gift you bring to our lives 5 days a week.  You are a blessing!===JACK:  We're passengers on the Ship of Life together.

FROM ST PAUL:  good one, Jack.  this whole Virus thing may be teaching us a good lesson.  don't put your trust in your bank account or Wall Street or even in your own health.   put your trust in God who will always have the last word.===JACK:  God promises a butterfly.===SP:  there is a joke about two caterpillars crawling along in the dirt.  a beautiful butterfly flies overhead and one caterpillar says to the other, "you will never get me up in one of those things".   a good resurrection story that i have used at Easter.

FROM TRIHARDER:  Try singing.===JACK:  What song would you suggest?  "Look for the silver lining?"===TH:  Right off the top, Joy to the World (Three Dog Night)===JACK:  I did a double take!  Joy to the Word is a famous Christmas carol.  Then I saw, 3 Dog.  I like that version, too.

FROM BLAZING OAKS:  Laughter is so crucial to our mental health; it also aids digestion, according to research I did for a musical program I did on laughter. Don't we all love a good laugh ?!
especially these days! Maybe we should all re-visit the movie MARY POPPINS, and sing along with the song "I Love To Laugh!". It's a good one.( My twin sis and I sang it in our program on laughter, and everyone was laughing heartily by the end of the song! :-)===JACK:  I saw Mary Poppins for the first time a couple of nights ago.  Last night it was Happy Gilmore.  To keep everything in perspective, on Sunday it was The Grapes of Wrath.  "Hard Times" aren't necessarily unknown.
