A SUNDAY COMMENT 7/30/06
This was said of Greg Boyd, pastor of Woodland Hills Church, Maplewood, Minnesota.
"His biggest fear is that people will think that all church is is a weekend carnival, with people liking the worship, the music, his speaking, and that's it."
Why is it that you attend (or don't attend) a worship service? I'd be interested to know your thoughts on this. ;-) Jack

I read the article about him in the New York Times today too. I attend worship each Sunday so God can pour Himself into me through Word and Sacrament and give me His perspective, even changing me and strengthening me and enabling me to be "in community."

When I watch some of the tv church services, I can see why some people think they have to be "entertained"! I go to be refreshed in the Word and in the Spirit...to be upheld and sustained for another week...to to ask His forgiveness, to thank Him for blessings, to seek directions so I always walk in His pathway.
