Jack’s Winning Words  2/6/20
“Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit; wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.”  (Miles Kington)  When I was a teen there were contests among churches to see whose youth knew the most about the Bible.  Some were very good at quoting the Bible; they knew that tomato was a fruit.  Our group concentrated on learning how to apply the Bible to daily life…   that you don’t put tomatoes in fruit salad .  One group learned about the Bible (tomatoes); the other learned about fruit salad.  Two different kinds of Bible study…  ;-)  Jack

FROM HY YO SILVER:  Hilarious!===JACK:  In the New Testament there's a verse that says: "The Lord loves a cheerful giver."  A modern  translation says: "The Lord loves the one who gives hilariously!"  (2 Corinthians 9:6–8, God doesn't want to coerce generosity. The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.)  You might be able to use this in your fund raising.

FROM WALMART REV:  Somewhat like the "Fruit of the Loom" experience-- ". . .  Activewear Designed For Ultimate Comfort & Durability!!"  0;-)===JACK:  I prefer Duluth Trading Post boxers.  (You've probably seen their ads)

FROM BB IN CHGO:  Great analogy; thanks for the education and the smile. ===JACK:  In my thinking and in my ministry, I'm a fruit salad person.
