“Kindness is within our power even when fondness is not.”  (Henry James)  A friend wrote recently about how difficult it is to love someone you don’t respect.  If you think that’s hard, reread John 3:16…”God so loved the world…”  When we only love “nice” people, what kind of love is that?  Edwin Markham’s poem says it best.  “He drew a circle that shut me out--Heretic,
rebel, a thing to flout. But love and I had the wit to win: We drew a circle that took him In!”   ;-)  Jack
