“In nature there are neither rewards nor punishments; there are consequences.” (Robert Ingersoll) These words seem appropriate when applied to the “global warming” debate. I suppose they could also be applied to decisions we make in general. ;-) Jack

Ingersoll's comment is somewhat deceptive. "Consequences" are results of some action, and could be classified as positive or negative results. In essence, that could be translated into "rewarding" or "punishing".
