Winning Words 11/3/11
“The brick walls are there for a reason. They are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something.” (Randy Pausch) I just finished reading “The Last Lecture” in which “dying” Randy Pausch gives/leaves advice for his children. Today’s quote seems self-explanatory. But, read it again. Sometimes we can become stronger by facing and overcoming obstacles that life puts in our way. ;-) Jack

Seems like when I see I really want something, when I face a brick wall, then I become aware of what a lot of other people might be facing if they want something sort of the same too. Become more aware of our common humanity.

For example, if I can see I want a happy marital relationship, can see that would be important to others too. If I want health, can see that others want health too. If I want to be a part of a faith community where everyone is serving in their own niche of call and looking to God to set the agenda, so everyone is taken care of and no one is excluded or inside and burned out, know there are plenty of other people both inside and wanting to come inside who want that too. Every single adversity becomes a pointer to the greater good, to God.
