Winning Words 5/2/13
“Never give up on a dream.”  (Rod Stewart)  This song was dedicated to Terry Fox’s dream to Run Across Canada.  We all have dreams.  MLK, Jr’s.  Mod Rod’s dream was to be a pro soccer player.  I know someone who wants to be a “pop” singer.  Dreams can happen when 1) we believe they’ll happen; 2) we keep a positive attitude; 3) we allow flexibililty…Rod became a singer.  His advice: Never give up on your dream.    ;-)  Jack

FROM WALMART REV:  Dreaming on and living my dream today as well! Thank you for your good word selection today, Jack! Off to marry off my daughter this morning...littler bit of a trip (6 hours) to Lutsen, MN. wedding on Saturday.====JACK:  Weddings are "dream" time, for parents of the bride and groom, too.

FROM CS IN WISCONSIN:  We are still dreaming of having a spring…..====JACK:  Thanks for the "snow" pictures in your backyard.  It looked to be at least 6".  Here in the Detroit area, it's sunny and in the 70s.  Robins have built a nest on the front porch light fixture, and some chickadees have come to occupy our birdhouse.  They beat out the wrens who were there last year.

FROM SHARIN' SHARON:  Actually, at our Community Farm, we are seeing that truly all three of your points need to be for the dream to work. The Farm was set up by a guy who really made all the decisions largely by himself and we followed along. After five years, it was just too much and now we are all transitioning to more of a team leadership style and I have seen first-hand that believing it will happen, keeping a positive attitude and above all allowing flexibility are needed for us all to continue "getting along" and carry out our dream of still growing food for the needy and doing it in an organic sustainable way. So far, so good, this season!!!!!====JACK:  Terry Fox's dream was to help other people.  Your Community Farmers have the same dream.

FROM TRIHARDER:  I remember that story --  the young man who had cancer and an amputation.  Inspiring.====JACK:  I saw a video of him running.  Now, THAT was inspiring!  Though his body gave up, he did not give up.

FROM JK IN MONTREAL:  I'm in Montreal Canada this week, for a fur fashion convention and Model Music related business. I think I know who wants to be a pop star!! :)====JACK:  I like the old song:  "Fairy tales can come true, it can happen to you   Fairy tales can come true, it can happen to you
If you're young at heart."

FROM PLAIN FOLKS CHESTER:  BULL'S EYE!!!====JACK:  When you take enough shots you're bound to hit the target.====PFC:  In the Marine Corps you'd be a Marksman

FROM CJL IN OHIO:  That we also have some talent.====JACK:  Just like in the parable...God gave you talents, and he's said, more than once, "Well done, good and faithful servant."

FROM MOLINER JT:  And how dreams can change over a period of time (and happenings)====JACK:  I think we've all experienced that.  How about those who were casualties in Boston?

FROM OUTHOUSE JUDY:  Dreams do come true...just look at Dorothy!!!  :-)====JACK:  Dorothy is from the Greek and means, God.  Dorothy has sometimes been used as a boy's name. Babe Ruth's daughter was named, Dorothy.  I think that there was a character in the Wizard of Oz who was named, Dorothy.
