Jack’s Winning Words 5/5/08
“Every individual matters. Every individual has a role to play. Every individual makes a difference.”
(Jane Goodall Institute) Jane Goodall believes that informed and compassionate individuals can make a difference in preserving the environment. What is your role in making a difference? Jane Goodall is a good role model. This quote comes from Three Minutes A Day, a book of daily devotions that I use. ;-) Jack

FROM JFREEDSTER IN MICHIGAN: One of my highlights was meeting Jane Goodall! I'm a member of her Institute.

FROM G.F. IN MICHIGAN: Thank's I'm using this one.

FROM J.F. IN NOVA SCOTIA: On the front page of QRZ.COM (a ham radio site), down to the lower right, was a quote from Hegel to the effect that "The only thing we learn from history is that we don't learn from history." Then there was a counterquote from somebody to the effect that we don't learn from what happened to us yesterday--"Hegel must be taking the long view."

FROM B.S. NEAR ORLANDO: this is especally for all the granchildren, Love to all

Haven't met a single individual yet that didn't have an impact on my life, even some very small or very old that seemed to have a very narrow range of behaviors. Some mysterious something of personality or soul always seems to shine through that forms a bond of prayer and love and thankfulness to God between us for this life and the day that He has sent. I like the phrase "preserving the environment"--it seems to acknowledge that God made it and we should be busy with "keeping it from harm, damage, danger, evil, etc." to "keep it from spoiling or rotting." The dictionary says a preserver is "one who or that which saves or defends from destruction, evil, etc." so I see that people can be preservers in very surprising and unexpected ways. Like Jane Goodall and the apes she takes care of and who you might say take care of her.
